Khors — 2008 — Mysticism
When it comes to Black Metal, the Ukraine is more often than not a safe bet, and incidentally Khors do not disappoint. The band mixes the styles of countrymates Nokturnal Mortum and Drudkh to create some good quality atmospheric Black Metal. While the album has its share of "rocking" moments, complete with a tasteful use of blast beats, it is overall a rather melodic, slow to mid-paced proposition with a poignant, omnipresent melancholic atmosphere that will either send the listener into a lightly depressive state or, best case scenario, invoke images of vast and peaceful landscapes.
